The history of Bavak Security Group

Bavak was founded in 1959 as a company specialized in 'workwear'. Bavak, which stands for BAkker VAKkleding (Bakker Workwear), offered a range of workwear including overalls, caps, ties, and jackets. The company grew steadily and expanded its activities.

During a family visit to Sweden in the 1960s, Mr. Bakker discovered a number clock in a store. Inspired by this idea, he contacted the manufacturer in Sweden. This led to the introduction of the well-known "number system" in the Netherlands, which we now associate with bakeries, butchers, and greengrocers. This innovation was a major breakthrough for Bavak. As a result, Bavak Efficiency BV was established as a new company focused on number systems for a.o. banking institutions.

In the early 1970s, Bavak began specializing in the development and installation of security and alarm systems in the banking sector. The success continued, and in 1974, Fons Bakker founded Bavak Security. This made Bavak Security one of the first recognized security companies in the Netherlands, specializing in burglary detection systems.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Bavak further expanded its activities into other sectors such as government, defense, and the aviation industry. They started providing security solutions for sensitive locations such as airports, embassies, and nuclear facilities.

Bavak continued to grow and expand its services throughout the 1990s and the early 21st century. The company was involved in large-scale national and international security projects. They developed expertise in access control, perimeter security, video surveillance, and cybersecurity.

Today, Bavak Security Group has become a well-known and globally active enterprise. The company offers a wide range of security solutions, including a wide range of physical security products and systems, autonomous drones, drone detection, and cybersecurity solutions.
